Prince Kuhio Day is celebrated in Hawaii on March 26. The day commemorates Prince John Kuhio Kalakaua, one of the most famous and respected leaders of the Hawaiian Islands, who played an important role in Hawaiian politics in the early 20th century.

Prince Kuhio was the heir to the royal family of Hawaii and was the last member of the royal family to continue the fight for independence and the rights of the Hawaiian people after Hawaii was annexed by the United States in 1898. He was known for his commitment to Hawaiian traditions and culture, as well as his desire to improve the situation of Native Hawaiians politically and socially.
